The Avenue, built in 1919, experienced a complete interior restoration during the summer of 2007. The house retains all of its old world elegance and character coupled with modern luxuries. All rooms benefit from private bathrooms for all rooms, cable television, free wireless internet access, in room phones with free local and long distance calling, in room safes, central heating / air conditioning, and ceiling fans.
Guests staying at The Avenue enjoy a full breakfast prepared by Catherine, who is a professional chef, fresh flowers, daily newspaper, luxurious bathrobes, extra pillows, 1000 tc sheets, duvet covers and hypoallergenic goose down comforters (non down comforters and pillows available for those severly allergic to goose down upon request) and luxury soap and shampoo products. Also unique to The Avenue is our complimentary mini bar!
The Avenue provides luxury accomodations with excellent proximity to diverse venues in Champaign. Beautiful West Side Park, the historic Virginia Theatre, and the downtown Champaign dining and entertainment district await you six blocks from your lodging. The campus and sports complex of the University of Illinois awaits you a short drive to sister city Urbana, IL.
